Acemannan PDF Print

Acemannan (CID: 72041) is a polysaccharide extracted from  Aloe vera (babosa). Babosa’s gel polysaccharides are known to have immunomodulatory properties, particularly the acetylated mannans from which acemmanan is a good representative. The gel is also described as having antidiabetic, anticancer and antibiotic activities. We are interested in formulations of biomedical products that could be developed by combining bacterial biopolymers with acemannan or the gel polysaccharide.
